Product of the Year is the world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation. Established 22 years ago in France, POY currently operates in 28 countries with the same purpose: Guide consumers to the best products in their market and reward manufacturers for quality and innovation.
In Canada, the Product of the Year seal is backed by the votes of over 5,900 consumers, serving as a shortcut for shoppers, saving them time and money. For manufacturers of the winning products, the award is a powerful marketing message proven to increase product trial, awareness, distribution and sales.
Product of the Year accepts entries from consumer products that demonstrate innovation in design, function or packaging and were launched within the previous 18 months. A jury of industry experts select the finalists that represent the Product of the Year standards of value and innovation. Those selected finalists are categorized and judged through an online survey of Canadian consumers conducted by Rogers Connect Market Research group. Consumers vote and select the winning products that are worthy of the Product of the Year title and distinct red logo.
Winning products are announced each year and receive the right to use the POY seal in their marketing and communications.
